Quick answer

Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) works differently from most email tools. Its Free plan lets you store up to 100,000 contacts but caps you at 300 emails a day, and every email carries a "Sent with Brevo" logo. That suits a big list you email rarely, or a small list you email often. It doesn't suit a single newsletter to 1,000 people: Free reaches 300 of them a day and you have to send the rest yourself. Paid plans start at $9 a month (Starter, 5,000 emails and 500 contacts), or $18 a month for Standard with automations for any number of contacts and no Brevo logo.

Is the free plan enough?

Enough for you if you have fewer than 300 people to reach on any one day. Brevo Free includes:

  • up to 300 emails a day (campaigns and transactional emails together); unused sends don't roll over
  • up to 100,000 stored contacts
  • marketing automation for up to 2,000 contacts entering your workflows
  • 1 marketing seat and email support, with no credit card and no time limit

Not enough if any of these matter to you:

  • one campaign to more than 300 people in a day. Brevo sends to the first 300, and you have to send the rest again the next day yourself. Once you've hit the daily limit, you can't schedule a campaign for the next day.
  • emails without the "Sent with Brevo" logo, which always shows on Free
  • A/B testing and landing pages, which start on Standard

One more rule: Brevo deletes a Free account if nobody logs in for 4 months.

What it costs when you outgrow it

Brevo charges by how many emails you send each month. Each email tier also comes with a contact limit. Prices in USD, billed yearly (per month) / billed monthly:

From the "Customize your plan" calculator on Brevo's pricing page. First price billed yearly (shown as a monthly figure, 10% off), second with monthly billing. Professional starts at $499 a month.

  • What each plan adds: Starter removes the daily sending limit. Standard adds marketing automation with no contact limit, A/B testing, 1 landing page and no Brevo logo. On Starter, removing the logo is a paid add-on.
  • The contact limit jumps at 20,000 emails. The first three tiers come with 500, 1,500 and 2,500 contacts. From 20,000 emails a month, Brevo includes up to 500,000 contacts.
  • Yearly billing: 10% off.
  • Nonprofits: Brevo lists a 20% nonprofit discount.

Catches to know

  • Unsubscribed contacts still count. Blocklisted contacts (people who unsubscribed or hard-bounced) count toward your contact total (blocklisted contacts, quotas).
  • Going over the contact limit upgrades you. On the first three tiers, reaching your contact limit moves you up to the next tier, at a higher price (pricing plans).
  • The Free daily cap includes everything. Brevo's calculator says the 300 a day covers both campaigns and transactional emails (Brevo pricing).
  • Logo removal on Starter costs extra. Brevo's help center and its pricing calculator show different prices for this add-on, so check it at checkout (add-ons, Brevo pricing).
  • Downgrading means cancelling. To move to a lower plan, or from monthly to yearly, you cancel first. The change takes effect at the end of your billing period. Monthly plans can be paused for up to 3 months (cancel your subscription, upgrade to a higher plan).
  • Refunds are rare. Brevo doesn't refund used or unused credits, or a plan you forgot to cancel. The exceptions are a technical error on Brevo's side, or an account that Brevo finds can't send from its shared IPs (refund policy).
  • No free address for your footer. US law requires a valid postal address in marketing emails (FTC CAN-SPAM guide). Brevo's help pages don't mention a shared address you can use, so plan on your own address or a P.O. box.

Who should pick Brevo, and who should skip it

Pick Brevo if you have a large list but don't email it often, you want automations on a free plan, or you'd rather pay for the emails you send than for every contact you store. From 20,000 emails a month, Starter includes up to 500,000 contacts for $32 a month.

Skip Brevo if you send one newsletter to more than 300 people and want it delivered the same day without paying (Kit Free has no sending limits up to 10,000 subscribers), you want a free shared footer address, or you don't want to log in at least every 4 months to keep a free account.

FAQ

Is Brevo really free?

Yes. The Free plan has no time limit and needs no credit card. It lets you send 300 emails a day and store up to 100,000 contacts, and every email shows a "Sent with Brevo" logo.

What happens if my Brevo campaign goes to more than 300 people on Free?

Brevo sends it to 300 people. You then have to send it to the rest yourself on later days, and once you've hit the limit you can't schedule it for the next day.

How much is Brevo after the free plan?

Starter costs $9 a month for 5,000 emails and 500 contacts, $25 for 15,000 emails and 2,500 contacts, and $32 for 20,000 emails with up to 500,000 contacts. Standard is $18, $49 and $69 at the same tiers. Yearly billing is 10% less. Prices checked October 21, 2026.

Do unsubscribed contacts count in Brevo?

Yes. Brevo counts blocklisted contacts, including unsubscribes and hard bounces, toward your contact total.

Does Brevo give refunds?

Generally no. Brevo doesn't refund used or unused credits or a plan you forgot to cancel. It makes exceptions for a technical error on its side, or if it finds your account can't send from its shared IPs.
